Transparent priming ground for acrylic and oil paints

Amsterdam Transparent Gesso optimally prepares canvases, wood, and cardboard-based surfaces without covering the original texture. As a water-based primer, it dries quickly to a stable, absorbent surface that firmly anchors acrylic and oil paints. With a capacity of 120 ml, it offers the ideal amount for small to medium-sized projects and allows for controlled dispensing via the practical cap.

🎨 Creative design possibilities

Due to its transparency, the gesso preserves the natural character of the surface and allows artists to reveal specific surface details. It can be applied thinly for impregnation or applied with a palette knife for relief textures. In addition, the formula allows for direct mixing with acrylic paints; pigments retain their full intensity while benefiting from the primer's increased coverage and adhesion.

🔥 Application

For efficient work in the studio or on large-scale mural projects, the medium is impressive due to its easy handling and rapid drying. Since it can be diluted purely with water, brushes and tools can be easily cleaned immediately after use. Its alkaline compatibility makes it a reliable base not only for traditional painting but also for murals on rough concrete, stucco, or brick surfaces. Larger quantities benefit from even spreadability without clumping.

👉 Important: Ensure that application temperatures are always above 10 °C and that leftovers are stored frost-free and airtight to ensure long-term product quality.

Orders are generally processed and prepared for shipping within one business day. As soon as your order has left our warehouse, you will receive a shipping confirmation via email. If available, this will also include tracking information.

Most orders are delivered within 2–3 business days. Please note that deviations may occur depending on the shipping provider, delivery region, or high order volumes.

Shipping Costs

For orders under CHF 50.–, we charge a flat shipping fee of CHF 5.20.

For order values under CHF 20.–, an additional small-order surcharge of CHF 10.– applies.

For order values of CHF 50.– and above, we deliver your order free of shipping costs within Switzerland.

What are the delivery costs?

Delivery costs:

For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.

For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.

In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.

Why is there a small-order surcharge?

For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.

  • Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs. 

  • This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.

  • At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?

The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.

Kidis Art always strives to process and deliver your goods as quickly as possible so that you receive your order without a long wait.
Where do our products come from?

For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.

We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
