Description
🐍 Cobra Artist Water-Mixable Oil Paint – Cadmium Yellow Medium 271
Intense yellow without solvents
The cadmium yellow oil painting technique from Cobra Artist combines the typical texture and slow drying time of classic oil paints with the practical handling of water-soluble systems. The highly pigmented Cadmium Yellow Medium 271 is convincing due to its extreme opacity and excellent lightfastness (+++), ensuring that motifs remain light-resistant and color-intensive in the long term. The specially developed oil-based binder allows for precise thinning and cleaning of brushes with water alone – eliminating the need to inhale aromatic solvents and making the process significantly safer and more environmentally friendly. The practical 150 ml tube provides a generous amount for complex color gradations, opaque layers, and a wide variety of surfaces.
✨ Product Features
- ✔️ Capacity: 150 ml tube for long-term use in the studio and atelier
- ✔️ Color standard: brilliant Cadmium Yellow Medium, color number 271
- ✔️ Durability: outstanding lightfastness (+++) for timeless works of art
- ✔️ Formulation: water-mixable oil binder system free of toxic paint thinners
- ✔️ Application behavior: high opacity for rich color application and clear contours
🎨 Creative Design Possibilities
The warm yellow spectrum is perfect for background designs, refractions of light, and high-contrast compositions. Due to the controlled drying time of the oil binder, surfaces can be blended seamlessly and combined wet-on-wet, while excess paint can be simply washed off under running water. The pigment can be used both thinly as a glaze on smooth canvas and applied thickly on rough painting materials – odorless and flexible in expression.
- ✔️ Gentle transitions and plein air painting on prepared canvas or wood panels
- ✔️ Plastic impasto application for relief-like structures and tactile surface effects
- ✔️ Transparent primers and underpainting layers for deep perspective and spatial depth
🔥 Processing
For larger series of works or intensive practice sessions, the 150 ml volume offers an economical foundation, as the binder can be controlled precisely for application. Adding pure water thins the consistency without affecting adhesion or the color spectrum; dried bristle brushes can be quickly cleaned of resin residue mechanically. The working speed and spreadability correspond to conventional oil paints, allowing for the efficient execution of series production, mural designs, or long-term studies.
👉 Important: Clean your tools immediately after use with lukewarm water instead of turpentine or mineral spirits; this preserves your utensils, minimizes health risks, and enables work in poorly ventilated rooms. Specially developed for ambitious artists and professional painters who want to combine high-quality oil paint with a clear environmental footprint.

What are the delivery costs?
Delivery costs:
For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.
For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.
In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.
👉 Why only 4.90 Swiss francs for delivery?
-
We want shipping costs to remain transparent and fair for our customers.
-
4.90 Swiss francs covers only a portion of the actual shipping and packaging costs – we cover the rest for you.
-
This keeps your shopping experience at Kidis Art straightforward, affordable, and fair.
Why is there a small-order surcharge?
For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.
👉 Why is there a small-order fee?
-
Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs.
-
This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.
-
At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.
Kidis Art always strives to process and deliver your goods as quickly as possible so that you receive your order without a long wait.
Where do our products come from?
For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.
We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
Kidis Art places the greatest importance on quality, transparency, and safety. That is why we take great care to ensure that all products are traceable – from manufacturing to the ingredients used. This way, you can be sure that you are receiving only high-quality and tested materials for your creative projects.
