Description
Cobra Artist water-mixable oil paint Payne's Grey 708 🎨🌿
Oil painting without solvents: Brilliant shades of grey in a handy 40 ml tube
Cobra Artist water-mixable oil paint Payne's Grey 708 combines the characteristic open time and color saturation of classic oil paints with the cleanliness of modern dispersion systems. The specially formulated pigment contains a high concentration of high-quality colorants, making it optimal for both precise contours and soft light-dark gradations. The excellent lightfastness of +++ ensures that the painting remains stable for years, even on highly exposed walls, and requires no subsequent preservation. A decisive advantage over conventional products is the absence of organic solvents. To spread or clean brushes, simply use clear tap water. This eliminates pungent fumes as well as complex disposal regulations – ideal for small studio rooms or shared workspaces. The semi-opaque viscosity forms a functional middle ground between purely transparent and purely opaque media. This allows you to deliberately overlap existing layers, simulate spatial depth, or incorporate minor corrections invisibly.
✨ Product features
- ✔️ Semi-opaque consistency allows for controlled transparency and clean revisions
- ✔️ Excellent lightfastness (+++) preserves the original color saturation over the long term
🎨 Creative design possibilities
Due to its neutral-cool expression, Payne's Grey 708 acts as a fundamental base and mixing tone for diverse genres. Whether in portraits for modeling shadow areas, in still lifes for backgrounds, or in landscape painting for atmospheric clouds – the tint adapts flexibly to any composition. Thanks to the extended working phase, techniques such as wet-on-wet blending or soft washes can be implemented effortlessly without the paint film becoming skin-like too quickly.
- ✔️ Application on primed canvases, rough cardboard, or painted wooden panels; both velvety glazes and expressive impasto applications can be seamlessly created by simply changing tools
🔥 Handling
For demanding series work or ongoing study projects, the complete elimination of thinners saves a great deal of cleaning time and provides long-term relief for the respiratory tract. After finishing the session, a quick trip to the sink to rinse the equipment is sufficient to reliably avoid staining textiles or surfaces. Should the palette be left unattended for a short time, the substance only hardens on the surface and can be processed again the following day without any problems. The aluminum tube sits securely in the hand thanks to its non-slip sleeve and extrudes consistent amounts of paint.
👉 Important: Close the tube immediately after each use to prevent the remaining quantity from drying out. Store the material in a cool, dark place so that the water-based binder retains its full elasticity and adhesion.

What are the delivery costs?
Delivery costs:
For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.
For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.
In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.
👉 Why only 4.90 Swiss francs for delivery?
-
We want shipping costs to remain transparent and fair for our customers.
-
4.90 Swiss francs covers only a portion of the actual shipping and packaging costs – we cover the rest for you.
-
This keeps your shopping experience at Kidis Art straightforward, affordable, and fair.
Why is there a small-order surcharge?
For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.
👉 Why is there a small-order fee?
-
Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs.
-
This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.
-
At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.
Kidis Art always strives to process and deliver your goods as quickly as possible so that you receive your order without a long wait.
Where do our products come from?
For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.
We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
Kidis Art places the greatest importance on quality, transparency, and safety. That is why we take great care to ensure that all products are traceable – from manufacturing to the ingredients used. This way, you can be sure that you are receiving only high-quality and tested materials for your creative projects.
