The Rembrandt Soft Pastel in Madder Lake Dark (code 331.9) is part of the world's most widely used range from this brand, combining decades of subtle Dutch craftsmanship with modern pigment technology. The purest types of kaolin form the basis for an extremely high concentration of premium color powders, characterized by vivid, pure color release and an exceptionally high degree of lightfastness. The product is free of critical metal pigments such as lead, cadmium, or cobalt and can be used as either a full or half stick.

Since deep black mixtures (.2, .3) as well as light tones with increasing white content (.7 to .12) are factory-defined, there is no need to guess mixing proportions. The extra-soft consistencies adhere firmly to the surface, allowing even large-scale overpainting and multi-layer glazes to succeed without disturbing graininess or uneven wear patterns.

👉 Important: The numeric code at the end of the color number precisely indicates how much the base color has been diluted with white. Order and store strictly by numbering to guarantee identical tonal gradations across different projects.

What are the delivery costs?

Delivery costs:

For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.

For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.

In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.

For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.

  • Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs. 

  • This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.

  • At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?

The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.

Where do our products come from?

For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.

We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
