Description
🎨 Van Gogh Watercolor – Cobalt Blue (Phthalo) 535 | 10 ml Tube
Highly concentrated phthalocyanine blue for transparent watercolors
Van Gogh offers the watercolor Cobalt Blue (Phthalo), product code 535, as a convenient 10 ml tube with extreme pigment density. This specific blue is characterized by its distinct brilliance and clear transparency, clearly setting it apart from opaque pigments. The standardized viscosity ensures controlled flow behavior at the brush tip and prevents the unwanted formation of strong pigment rings after drying. Artists, art students, and graphic designers use this Phthalo blue to achieve cool shadow areas, atmospheric air transparency, and precise underpainting layers with minimal consumption.
✨ Product Features
- ✔️ Packaging: 10 ml aluminum tube with secure screw cap
- ✔️ Color Identification: Cobalt Blue (Phthalo), system code 535
- ✔️ Lightness/Clarity: Brilliant transparency combined with high color strength
- ✔️ Binder structure: Consistent viscosity for clean mixing and uniform wetting
🎨 Creative Design Possibilities
The thin-layer application of the pigment makes it a classic choice for aqueous glazing techniques and large-scale sky backgrounds. Since it retains its original hue even when highly diluted, the color application can be steplessly controlled. The cold tone harmonizes particularly well with earthy brown shades and forms the basis for realistic landscape studies or technical pen drawings.
- ✔️ Overpainting and shading techniques on rough watercolor board, keeping the fine paper texture visible
🔥 Processing
Thanks to the concentrated formula, frequent re-dosing and the associated material consumption are eliminated. For larger series or project work, the homogeneous miscibility of multiple tubes ensures a chromatically identical reference value. The short preparation time and stable adhesion ensure that color samples remain the exact same shade the next day as freshly mixed batches.
👉 Important: Phthalo pigments develop strong staining power; therefore, always start with a sparse concentration and increase the saturation in separate layers to avoid unintentional darkening of the paper base.

What are the delivery costs?
Delivery costs:
For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.
For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.
In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.
👉 Why only 4.90 Swiss francs for delivery?
-
We want shipping costs to remain transparent and fair for our customers.
-
4.90 Swiss francs covers only a portion of the actual shipping and packaging costs – we cover the rest for you.
-
This keeps your shopping experience at Kidis Art straightforward, affordable, and fair.
Why is there a small-order surcharge?
For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.
👉 Why is there a small-order fee?
-
Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs.
-
This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.
-
At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.
Kidis Art always strives to process and deliver your goods as quickly as possible so that you receive your order without a long wait.
Where do our products come from?
For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.
We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
Kidis Art places the greatest importance on quality, transparency, and safety. That is why we take great care to ensure that all products are traceable – from manufacturing to the ingredients used. This way, you can be sure that you are receiving only high-quality and tested materials for your creative projects.
