Description
🖌️ Van Gogh Watercolor Brush Size 12 – Series 188
Firm shape meets precise color release
The flat sword brush in size 12 combines the control of a narrow detail tool with the efficiency of a broad stroke area. The robust synthetic fibers release the water-pigment mixture smoothly, do not fray, and apply gently to delicate watercolor paper layers. Thanks to the ergonomically shaped handle, your wrist retains its freedom even during intense sessions, making this Series 188 brush a reliable foundation for precise painting techniques.
✨ Product Features
- ✔️ Flat sword brush shape with a straight bristle edge for direct, controlled color flow
- ✔️ High-quality synthetic fibers that maintain their original contour after repeated wetting
- ✔️ Size 12 efficiently covers both medium-sized background areas and distinct outlines
- ✔️ Lathed wooden handle with an ergonomic silhouette for fatigue-free work
🎨 Creative Design Possibilities
Due to its flat cross-section, this brush allows for the even application of washes and the sharp placement of horizon lines or architectural elements. By slightly tilting the tool, the broad coverage area effortlessly transforms into thin strokes, making it much easier to create leaf veins, quill-style shading, or calligraphic decorative elements. The direct contact area ensures that color gradients merge seamlessly without unwanted hard edges.
- ✔️ Even solid tones for skies, water surfaces, and wall backgrounds
- ✔️ Precise cut edges and geometric compositions in still lifes
- ✔️ Filigree stroke work for plant silhouettes when placed at a right angle
🔥 Workmanship
For larger drawing projects, the synthetic fiber structure ensures that the solvent remains stably bound within the brush head for a long time. This reduces frequent reloading and supports a continuous wet-on-wet process on the paper. The firm attachment of the bristles in the metal ferrule withstands even strong mechanical forces that arise when rubbing dry pastel chalk or abrasive mineral pigments, without fibers breaking out or the handle wobbling.
👉 Important: Rinse the bristles thoroughly under lukewarm water after each use, squeeze out excess moisture, and only dry the brush with the tip pointing upward so that the sword shape is permanently preserved.

What are the delivery costs?
Delivery costs:
For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.
For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.
In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.
👉 Why only 4.90 Swiss francs for delivery?
-
We want shipping costs to remain transparent and fair for our customers.
-
4.90 Swiss francs covers only a portion of the actual shipping and packaging costs – we cover the rest for you.
-
This keeps your shopping experience at Kidis Art straightforward, affordable, and fair.
Why is there a small-order surcharge?
For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.
👉 Why is there a small-order fee?
-
Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs.
-
This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.
-
At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.
Kidis Art always strives to process and deliver your goods as quickly as possible so that you receive your order without a long wait.
Where do our products come from?
For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.
We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
Kidis Art places the greatest importance on quality, transparency, and safety. That is why we take great care to ensure that all products are traceable – from manufacturing to the ingredients used. This way, you can be sure that you are receiving only high-quality and tested materials for your creative projects.
