The Talens Gesso Primer 1001 forms the technical foundation for long-lasting works of art by securely sealing absorbent surfaces and creating a homogeneous primer. As a purely acrylic-based gesso, it combines rapid wettability with excellent adhesive strength, allowing painting materials to be applied directly without sinking unintentionally into the structure. The elastic dried layer absorbs mechanical stress, thereby preventing subsequent cracking or flaking of the paint. With a filling volume of exactly 1000 ml, the bucket packaging provides sufficient substance for intensive studio work.

For large-format work, the 1000 ml bucket offers significant practical advantages over smaller containers. The large supply allows for continuous work without interruption for refilling, which is crucial for a uniform finish, especially with broad brush applications. Since the substance remains flowable and levels out evenly, multiple layers can be applied intentionally until the desired opacity and smoothness are achieved.

👉 Important: For best results, always keep the surface clean, as dust particles can disrupt the homogeneity of the dried layer and reduce subsequent paint adhesion.

Shipping Costs

For orders under CHF 50.–, we charge a flat shipping fee of CHF 5.20.

For order values under CHF 20.–, an additional small-order surcharge of CHF 10.– applies.

For order values of CHF 50.– and above, we deliver your order free of shipping costs within Switzerland.

What are the delivery costs?

Delivery costs:

For packages with a value of up to 50.00 Swiss francs, a delivery fee of 4.90 Swiss francs applies.

For orders over 50.00 Swiss francs, delivery is free of charge for customers.

In June 2025, we adjusted the delivery costs from 7.90 Swiss francs to 4.90 Swiss francs.

For orders under 20.00 Swiss francs, we charge a small-order fee of 10.00 Swiss francs, which already includes shipping costs.

  • Every order incurs fixed costs (packaging, processing, payment systems). In order to cover these fairly while still offering our products at low prices, a small-order fee is necessary for orders under 20.00 Swiss francs. 

  • This ensures that we can continue to offer a diverse range of products in high quality without having to artificially increase product prices.

  • At the same time, we would like to avoid tiny orders where the shipping and processing costs would be higher than the value of the goods themselves.
How long will it take to receive my order?

The processing time for your order is generally 2–5 business days, including shipping time. During peak season (e.g., before holidays or during special promotions), it may occasionally take 1–2 days longer.

For paints and art supplies, our products come exclusively from Holland, where the highest quality standards and precision in manufacturing are a matter of course.

We source our craft materials primarily from Germany and France, and occasionally from China when special materials or designs are produced there that enrich our range.
